Answer» I can't roll the drive back it blue screened again and now I can't log in without it crashing Try it in safemode...repeatedly tap F8 at powerup and before you see the Win logo...I can't do that in safe mode. I can't click the button.Go to the Atheros website and download and install the latest driver for your network adapter. Also, make sure Windows Update is NOT allowed to install new DRIVERS.I can't use the internet at all in safe modeYou're on the internet now, aren't you? Nope I'm using my phoneSo I can't fix it by logging in and installing the new driver from the site I can't fix it using safe mode are their any other options? or is it time to say goodbye to this OLD laptop...Download the driver using a different computer, copy it to your computer, installDo I have to uninstall it first? Do I upload it in safe mode?Given your current circumstances, don't worry about uninstalling anything. And yes, try to install it in safe mode - hopefully that will work (though not all drivers can be installed in safe mode)ok this is weird
I was at my aunts house when I started this post now I'm back home and browsing the WEB like nothings wrong??? I figured since I have WiFi now I wont have to use another computer or do it in safe mode. So, I went to the device manager and DECIDED to test it out by updating the driver and now its telling me its up to date... I did the same thing to the virtual WiFi miniport adapter and it tells me "windows cant verify the publisher of this driver software"
Could this be the problem?DO NOT update the driver via device manager. Do it as I suggested - get the driver from the website of the adapter's manufacturer. And make sure you disable driver updating in Windows Update. What site is it exactly? How do I know if I'm downloading from the right website?Quote from: Allan on September 27, 2013, 11:15:36 AM Go to the Atheros website and download and install the latest driver for your network adapter.
