Solve : Blue Screen [not BSoD]?

Answer»

Hi, I've got quite the problem here. I left my computer alone for AWHILE, and it went into sleep mode. When I started it up again, I had a blue screen with horizontal white lines [kind of like tire tracks] that shake a little bit. I tried turning off the monitor, but that didn't help. So, I restarted the computer, and that didn't do anything, either. As you can see, my computer still RUNS just FINE. I'm typing this with the blue screen. I have no lag or anything.

I can't think of anything else to do. Please help?First, try another monitor.

Then some specs on your computer would be helpful. (Laptop or desktop? Video card? OS?)Another monitor?

But, it's a desktop [COMPAQ], I don't know about the video card, and it's an XP.Ya another monitor. Or try replugging in the monitor cable. If all else fails get a new graphics cardBefore buying a new graphics card, take it out and examine it for any defects (i.e. blown/bulging capacitors)

Then see if you can borrow a known good working graphics card. Thanks for the help, guys. My SISTER said she wiggled the wires and it was fixed.Nice. Good Job.
