Answer» Recently, I was on the Internet and I visited a site with torrents and dowloads. I did not download anything but instantly my computer became extremely slow and I ended up just shutting it down. When I turned it on the next day, I got a blue screen of death saying...

If this is the first time you've seem this stop error screen RESTART your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to MAKE sure any new hardware or software is properlly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any updates you might need.
If problems continue disable or remove newly installed hardware. Disable bios memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press f8 to select advanced startup options and then select safe mode.
Technical information:
*** stop: 0x000000d1 (0xe190a000, 0x0000000Z, 0x00000000, 0xefaf5cf1)
Beginning dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for assistance.
But restarting it dies nothing, and f8 does Nothing either. Help me!!Check device manager for any problems......check memory is seated...check nic card is seated...have you installed any new hardware or software? This may sound dumb but.. How do I check those things? My computer won't move past the blue screen at all.. And no I haven't installed anything new in months.. Do you have access to a windows XP disc. If so, boot from it, and then select repair. This should do the trick. QUOTE from: Ohivylo on May 05, 2009, 05:49:01 PM But restarting it dies nothing, and f8 does Nothing either. Help me!!
The Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) should not prevent you from accessing the Windows Advanced Options Menu at startup (F8). Does the BSOD occur before or after you log into the Windows OPERATING system?
We could really use more information: o Desktop or laptop? o Manufacturer of computer (if brand NAME) or motherboard if custom built o Model number of computer if brand name or motherboard if custom built o Version and level of Windows operating system? For example, Windows XP Home, Service Pack 3Do you have your windows CD?
