Answer» Hello! I have a Acer Aspire 5050 (POS) It has VISTA Home BASIC 1GB RAM AMD 2.2 Ghz This is a basic laptop I bought a few years ago for my WIFE's business. Recently it has been crashing giving me a blue screen with what I would call white lines horizontally across the screen. It will stay on this screen until I turn off the power. I have to try to turn it on a few times to get it going again. When it crashes I can be surfing or not even in the room. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thank You!Most likely overheating... Try CLEANING all vents/ports as best you can...
