Answer» I have had 4 BSODs in an hour whilst trying to do an AV scan (Kasp.) I hope the sreenshot will enable you to point me in the right direction. This is poss conected to a previous post last week (although in 'Hardware')
[recovering disk space - old attachment deleted by admin]What is the blue screen error message?Windows had to close etc... 0x000000F4, 0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA800534FB30, & that's all I was ABLE to copy. I have unchecked auto restart and so will have get it to BSOD again to get all the codes. AlexmaYour A/V is obviously killing a process needed to run Windows. Can you attach a dump from C:\WINDOWS\MINIDUMP?Download BlueScreenView No installation required. Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program. When scanning is done, go EDIT>Select All. Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt. Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.STOP Error 0x000000F4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
Sounds like LSASS, CSRSS, or one of the other low-level Windows components is infected.Sorry about the delay in responding. The PROBLEM was resolved after finding I had a faulty HDD. I installed a new drive and reinstalled Win 7. I then ran the Seatools utility which found 47 errors on the drive and REPAIRED them. So now I have a spare GOOD 250gb drive! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.....(but costly!) Many thanks to all who contributed solutions. Alexma

Unless I am missing something here, what you have is a 250GB drive that has a red flag fluttering over its reliability, if Seatools had to fix 47 errors on it. Salmon Trout, Thank you for your input. Are you saying this HDD is bad? It is only 18mths or so old, so is still under warranty. As Seatools now says it is 'Healthy' would they reject an RMA? I am now using it as a second drive (Local Disk E) for backup, with no further problems. Your views please. AlexmaWell, other people's views may differ, but personally if that happened to me I would be make a warranty claim. 4 BSODs and 47 repaired errors would stop me trusting that drive.
