Solve : Boot Drive 1 Win 2K - How??

Answer»

How do you get Windows 2000 to boot from the second drive?
I though I read here that it can not be DONE. Here is a picture.

What is wrong with this picture? What does your boot.ini FILE show as the default windows system?

OK. Here is a new picture. I have goone back and forth USING the BIOS, but not changing the BOOT.INI file. Look at this new image.

As yuu cam see. when I run CMD it brings up the E: drive! And the disk manager shows E: as the system on drive 1 and not drive 0 here.
Well, anyway it works. I am going to pull the drive out and go back to one drive. Fun, but it is so confusing!Quote

And the disk manager shows E: as the system on drive 1 and not drive 0 here.

Nothing abnormal about that, the OS can be loaded from any hard disk/partition. In your boot.ini change RDISK(0) to RDISK(1) and reboot, should work.

Your "problem" possibly caused by the drives (pata) not being correctly jumpered as Master/Slave.
