Answer» When i turn on my computer, the power is on alright, but my computer WOULD keep staying on the very first screen, which is the screen that shows my IDE informations, my memory status and at the bottom it says "press DEL to enter SETUP" on black background. Yea, it's the very first screen you see when you start your computer. The problem is my computer wouldn't go any further. It just stays at this screen forever. So i turned off the computer, opened up the case and tried to see what went wrong. Of course i found nothing so i closed the case, plugged everything back and turned on the PC and it booted just fine! This was a couple days ago and after that, it worked just fine for few days and the problem just occured again. So i just went through the same process(opening up the case and did nothing, then replugged everything) and it's WORKING fine again. I'm worried if this problem may later cause permant damage if i keep using my computer without fixing this weird problem.
My computer is Pentium 4 and using windows XP, got plenty of RAM I RECENTLY changed my graphic card and added Firewire IEEE1394 card. They worked just fine for couple weeks now, but i have a feeling that it might be the IEEE card that i installed. (Not sure though) Do you think if it could be a problem REGARDING any hardware? If not, what could be causing this weird problem? Please help!Check and make sure that the two items you installed are SEATED in thier sockets properly then run a thourgh scan disk and let it check and fix any errors
ElaineHow about some details on the computer, the power supply, and the graphics card? I would take the firewire card out for now until we get this resolved. (One variable at a time.) Ensure that all items are securely seated. It's fairly easy to dislodge a cable or a card etc without realising it.Yes i made sure all the cards are in their socket firmly. I just ran the Scandisk today and i'm just hoping that my problem is gone. Hmm...I still wonder what cause the problem... Oh, and thanks for your kind replies!
