Solve : Brand new PC seems to be acting slower than it should..? |

Answer» I just bought a computer yesterday, it's brand new. It's running on Windows 7, the specs are as follows: I uninstalled Avira Anti-Virus, and replaced it with VGA Internet Security 2011, since I heard that Avira used a lot of RAM, but no luck with that. Do you mean AVG internet security 2011 ?Yes that's what I meant, sorry, I'll change that. And, I'm wondering why you bought a new PC with lesser specs than your old one. Does the new PC have a lot of apps installed by the manufacturer that you don't need? If any of them are running in the background, they could be slowing your machine. You may need to do a bit a decrapifying, i.e. removing the CRAP installed by the manufacturer. Regarding the change of anti-virus programs, I'm not surprised that that yielded no improvement. You might also look into updating a graphics driver. Also, if you're using Internet Explorer, try Firefox, Chrome, or Opera. Any of the latter three BROWSERS perform better for me than IE. With IE, scrolling of some web pages is a bet choppy while it's smooth in the other browsers. I'm sorry, I made a mistake there: My Old PC *didn't* have better specs than my current one. And I've disabled all unneeded applications running in the background, and also have removed the programs which I have no use of. I use Chrome on this new PC, and used it on the old one too. |
