Solve : BSoD!!!?

Answer»

I was just messing around on my laptop a couple days ago and the BSoD appears...only for like 5 seconds, and then WENT away, so I had no time to read the text, although I know what most of it said anyways; first started off with something about "this may have been caused by a software or hardware change" and then the rest...I don't know. Lol.

But anyways, when the BSoD goes away and restarts my laptop, when I log in, I get multiple "svchost.exe" errors, asking if I want to terminate or debug the program, something like "0xf33333333" was the error CODE for it. I get those like 4 times, then about 4 "Generic Host for Win32 Applications" error messages come up.....network allowance messages for "svchost.exe" comes up countless times, Java network allowance messages show up, its like all these random things come up for no reason. And I'm afraid that if I do a System Restore, I'll lose all my data/media/documents/etc., it being that I have never had to do a System Restore, nor have I been in this situation.

However, I got my laptop into Safe Mode (which I am in right now) and it works without a charm.......I just don't understand...what is going on?!?!?System restore won't restore EVERYTHING...just restore it to a date when this didn't happen.

Try restoring it to a week before this problem happened. (You'll lose a week of editing/new files, but it will fix your problem...unless you cause it again...)Sounds like a driver issue...
Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery and uncheck "auto restart on errors"...
Next time you get a BSOD it will stay...
Write down the entire message and post it here.I'll try to post the BSoD screen first......but like...how? Lol, its not like I can take a screenshot of it...or can I?
Yeah I'm a NOOB. Lol. Never been in this situation........so scared right now...Don't be afraid...we're here to help.
As long as you don't do anything drastic without asking here first you'll be fine...

Haha, thanks.
I never really knew what System Restore did, or how it worked.
I guess I'll just wait another week, because I just made a slideshow for my brother that passed last week, and I don't really want to lose the pictures....
So yeah, if System Restore comes to be my last option....I will most definitely wait another week.
Thanks a lot for the info, though. I really needed that Quote from: patio on January 20, 2009, 08:00:13 PM

What new drivers have you installed lately ? ?
If any i would roll them back to the originals.
To check the drive go to Start/Run and type in chkdsk /f...let it run to completion and re-boot. Then run defrag and go to bed.
Call us in the morning with an update.Uhh, a couple weeks ago, I installed drivers for my PS3 Eye camera....then I tried to use it a few days ago and it "couldn't find" the device....,
Everything (besides that) worked fine.......but the driver wasn't identified in the stop message....

Safe Mode is unreliable now too...I can't open any applications....I'll click it like 10 times for 2 minutes straight and nothing happened. Only thing that worked was the Start menu and Windows Explorer (file bowser)
So...my laptop is quite useless now.I guess I should contact Microsoft??Do you have a restore CD ? ?If you can...
Download, and install WhoCrashed: http://www.resplendence.com/download/whocrashedSetup.exe
Open it, click Analyze button.
WhoCrashed will create report.
Copy, and paste it into your next reply.

You have to do the system restore to before the problem started.
Waiting another week will not help anything.
Doing a system restore to before the drivers became corrupted will fix your computer.
You're just gonna have to re-do that slideshow.

You wont lose the pictures
