Solve : C: folder question? |
|
Answer» Hi, I have NEVER posted here, but I thought maybe this SITE could help me figure out what is going on with my computer. I have not been having any problems, but I have about 90 or so random file folders in the C: folder. The all are made up of random letters and numbers and when you open them there is just a text file with what looks to me is jibberish. I was on the phone with tech support a while ago (for something unrelated which has since been solved) and they said that was abnormal but not to delete them if I wasn't having any problems. Can I just delete these? Here is a screenshot of some of them. Oops I just realized the pic was too blurry, but you get the idea. We'd get a better idea if we could read the folder names and DATES. Maybe you could post it again, properly? As far, as my eyesight allows, they look like random alphanumeric names, dating back to 2006.They're probably leftovers from updates. Memory tells me this used to happen with Win.2k, a strange looking folder was created during the install of each update. My solution would be to move them all to a unique folder somewhere and if there is no "file not found" PROBLEM after a couple of weeks delete the lot. Good luck. Good advice Dusty ... They could also be scandisk logs. |
