c:\progra~1\carbon~1\ccw32.vxd I sure need some of that GURU help stuff Please! You have a Zip drive that won't respond on your system? Your HD crashed? What OS are you USING? Do you have an installation DISK for this Zip drive?
Does the c:\progra~1\carbon~1\ccw32.vxd error occur while windows 98 is booting?

If so, check your root directory (usually C:, or whatever drive letter you installed Windows to) for autoexec.bat.
Right click autoexec.bat and choose Edit.
Copy and paste the contents of that file here. All Zip drive drivers were 3rd party...to my knowledge none of them would be included on a Win98 CD.
You need to track down those drivers and re-install them. Why are we talking about ZIP drives here, since ccw32.vxd is Compaq video driver: http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=25851From Slobill's PM:

First Thanks to both of you.I learned from each . The problem seems to have been that file was not coppied at the first restore . I did another today and watched it closely and WALLA up and running fine. Reloading programs again running each as we go along. As time went on many many programs showed an error message. The zip drive was just the first on boot up.
You were right on Broni compaq card.

Thanks!
