Solve : C:\$Recycle.bin ????

Answer»

I recently ran some scans and noticed "C:\$Recycle.bin" pop up in the process. I WENT to go find the folder and i cannot find it on my computer. The only thing i have found about this folder is that it might be from other users on my computer. Problem i have is that I deleted all old user names from the computer when i got it so I dont have access to delete anything on them.

Please tell me there is a way to get rid of these files as they take up a lot of space.

ThanksI assume, you're talking about some security scan, right?
In any case, if the entry looks like this:
C:\$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-2802543277-400237196-3654671341-1000\
don't worry about it. It's a hidden SYSTEM file, which corresponds to your Recycle Bin (same in XP, except for "$" sign).
However, the above entry is created for each user, so if right now, you're the only user, $RECYCLE.BIN folders for other users can be removed (deleted).
WARNING! Don't delete anything, until I'll tell you, which one can be deleted, because you may cause some serious problems.
To see those folders, open WINDOWS Explorer, go Tools>Folder Options>View tab, and uncheck following entry:

OK Vista warning.

Post list of all $RECYCLE.BIN folders including SID number (S-1-5-21-2802543277-400237196-3654671341-1000\) <---bold number is the most important one
I was ABLE to get in-touch with my friend and he walked me through the process

Thank you very much for your response THOUGH! You're welcome
