No new PARTITIONS have been created.hey Allan, did you figure this one out yet, smart guy.  since you seem to know what's going to work or not before you try it, maybe you could enlighten us on how to solve this problem.  Quote from: Atari7800 on March 22, 2010, 08:36:31 PM

Actually, he's using this magical thing called "basic logic"

First, the errors say a file is missing. When INSTALLING programs.

what file is missing? who knows. chances are, this is an error message from windows installer. But whatever the case may be, it is almost certainly not from the VIDEO card, since as the OP stated the errors occured when Installing the game, program, and windows 7, not when using the game. I haven't seen a game installer "push" the video card at all, since they are desktop applications, nor have I seen it suddenly decide to delete files it needs for no reason.

Additionally, the BOOTMGR error simply means that, the NT6 equivalent to NTLDR is missing; I imagine this is simply because the install failed.

At this POINT I think the various "missing file" errors and the file(s) they refer to may be extremely useful. The "bootmgr is missing" issue is likely just a result of the failed Windows 7 installation due to another file that is missing.

All I can suggest to do would be to perform a completely clean install of XP, or 7, or whatever OS you prefer; delete all existing partitions on the HD and install a completely fresh copy in a new partition. Make sure to copy down any and all error messages you receive during the install, as they may point to the true culprit for all these issues.I simply love when they get sarcastically critical ...then quit the Forums.

Another one bites the DUST, I suppose.

Although to be honest wasn't "hanging on the edge of my seat"...
