Got a new Compaq notebook with Windows Vista about four months ago....nothing but problems with  Windows mail which seems to be CORRUPTING all other default mail boxes that I attempt to set.

Can I uninstall Windows Mail and still SEND and recieve email with on a default of my choice?  You can't uninstall Windows Mail, but you can always use another mail program. I recommend Thunderbird.Thanks BRONI, but I've already tried it... back in day one when I first turned the computer on.  Frankly I've not heard of anyone having problems with Thunderbird, but it sure didn't perform properly for me, as likewise all others that I've tried. I therefore maintain that Windows Mail is the culprit because it seems to have a constant host of problems all of it's own.

I THINK I'll get rid of the whole clatter and get an Apple system.   It'd be obviously HELPFUL, if you can be more specific what actual problems are, especially with TB, because I'm not familiar with Windows Mail.Thunderbird is probably one of the easiest e-mail apps to set up and use...can you be more specific on what your issues were ? ?
