My internet has been working fine. Then all of the sudden last night i was disconnected from a game I play and unable to get back on. I then noticed I could not get on the internet either. Everytime I open explorer it tried to GO to some searchicq webpage. I spent a total of 3 hrs and 35 mins on the phone last night with my internet service provider and HP. They couldn't figure it out. My status report shows My puter is connected to the network, but the network won't connect to the internet. I am not very computer savvy, so bear with me if I question your responses. I've tried everything anyone I talked to could come up with except a complete recovery. One of my friends told me today it could be a virus. I don't know anything about viruses. I am strictly a gamer who plays a lot of Ultima Online, so I'm not sure where I would have got a virus. Can someone HELP me out PLEASE?DOWNLOAD HijackThis:

Scan and save the log. Attach it to your next post.I can't download anything on my cpu. It won't let me do anything internet related. I am using puter at work to post these.If you have a USB stick, or you're able to burn CD's at your work, download the program, save it on your USB stick (or burn on a CD), and install it on your computer @ home.

Than save the HijackThis log onto the USB stick (or burn on a CD) and post it when you're back at work, or maybe you can use a friend's pc who has internet access.

It's a kind of a workaround, and with the weekend coming, and Christmas, I don't know when you'll be able to post the log, but it REALLY helps us to figure out what the problem is.
