Solve : can someone help?!?

Answer»

I'm having a Inspiron 2200. Two DAYS ago I was still able to use my realplayer and winamp, but somehow after I've restarted it, it gives me 2 error messages and they're the follows:

- PIFSve.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

- SmartBridge Alerts: MotiiveSB.exe - entry point not found.
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

Plus I can't even install new things, like yahoo and MSN messenger, it'll just tell me that I'm not the Administrator of the computer (even I've log on as one), or it'll SAY something like, "please verify that you have sufficient PRIVILEGES to install system services".

Could someone please help!!!pifsvc.exe is a LiveUpdate Notice Service from Symantec Corporation belonging to LiveUpdate Notice.

motivesb.exe is a process by AT&T which allows a user to submit files to the Internet for support. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling it is down to user preference.

You cannot install any software on your Inspiron because your user account does not have administrative privileges. You need to get whoever set up your laptop (or whoever installed those programs) and have him help you.

If your user account doesn't have Adminstrative privileges, then there isn't much troubleshooting that you can do on a problematic computer.Need...more...INFO...gasp

Operating system / antivirus & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start happening / did it ever work right / installed any new software?

Do a system restore to a point prior to the problem starting:

Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / choose a restore point.
