Solve : can't access files?

Answer»

Hello!

I have a problem, I can not accesss to some of my files. The comp. tell's me that they are already in use. I use Xp proffesional, for antivirus BIT defender and Zone alarm.

And by what program are they in use? What files are you referring to?I have on i disk on root 3 avi files, whic are now lock and 1 dir of 7.

If I am log on my name a can access the dir but if I am log on another user I can not even access the dir contents. There are files zip, rar iso, bin, cue txt, pdf.

When I open the avi file in Media explorer, the ERROR is reportet in whic is saying that the file is used by another program. I can not find that another program.

I scaned for viruses by bit defender and ZA, but nothing., I log in in safe mode---- it is the same.Zone Alarm is not a virus scanner. - Does it ask you to let through certain connections originating from files you never heard of/donot trust?

Scan for spyware as well.

I've heard of Bit Defender before, but I THINK the name's dodgy. I'd get a proper virus scanner if I were you.

I donot have any experience with managing more than one account, but have you GIVEN the other accounts priviliges to access the files you want them to...? Also be certain that they are not in the administrators My Documents folder, these are personal and can not be shared I believe..I install Nortona Antivirus  - found nothing,
for spyware AD-WARE SE Proffesional - found some tracking cookies, but no effect

For other account, all have the administrator priviligies

O,,, I erase the value in registry for avi files and it help to erase the avi file, but I don't vant to erase all, This is 15G of data whic I need and t's not all avi.

I think that must be something in windows.
