Solve : Can't double click icon's?

Answer»

Hello first let me say i think this site is great however I am quite new to this...

My son put on a BACKGROUND that i didnt want so i removed it however now when my pc LOADS it still shows it briefly same when it shuts down I looked for it in the start up but do not see it there. How do i prevent this from happening?

Since he did this i can no longer double click my icons on my desktop i now have to RIGHT click to open them. How do i switch it back so that I can double click? I have Windows 98.

thankyouWhile trying to find your answer, I myself messed up my computer with the right-click thing. Then I fixed it. Go to Start>Control Panel>Mouse
There should be something about primary and secondary mouse buttons. It might have a different name in Windows 98. (I am running Windows XP right now. )
If Windows 98 does not have this option, then you should look for something similar in the mouse options.

Other than that, if you have passwords on your computer, go into the default user and change the background from there.
I hope that helps you. Once again, I am running a Windows XP computer and I do not have access to a 98 right now. So look for something similar.Hello

thankyou i played around with it and managed to fix it however it was not in properties of the mouse but i went to active desktop then customize my desktop and in folder options and customize. It worked!

Now for the old wallpaper i tried to remove it is still showing in the selections fo wallpaper in customize my desktop even though i thought i removed it from the pc i cant however delete it from the list any idea's?

thanx again for your helpTry setting your background to 'None' then click 'Apply' & 'OK'.
Then re-boot & set the background to your choice.
If your Son, (I have 2 ) downloaded a background that you don't want on your computer, search for the file with the 'Search' function & delete it.Not sure if it will help this specific issue, but it's a good thing to do anyway. Run a Disk Cleanup. Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup ... Run it. When the box comes-up and has CHECK boxes, I would say to check everything EXCEPT for the Recycle Bin. Click ok, followed by ANOTHER ok, and let it go through. This will help you later with space and other things.
