Formatted a thinkpad 600 using pcbeginner tools.
Now can only find floppy and cdrom, so unable to reinstall windows.

Some laptops have critical stuff on the hard drive. DO NOT FORMAT a laptop hard drive unless you know for sure you have a true image of it available. or you are sure that it is not needed. God is with you!!!!!!!

I thought that it would be sufficient to have the drivers, etc., and the operating system.

Before formatting, I sat the bios for floppy, cdrom, hd.
I made an erroneous assumption that because I could easily format my DESKTOP, I could also format the laptop.
Wrong again!!!!!

SanctuaryI have an OLDER Thinkpad and all I know is that it has a hidden area on the disk that is used to restore the OS. In fact, I have restored the Win200 system and it does a fresh install ands the disk is clean of any of my data files, as far as I can tell. A third-party format program may not be nice to the special Master Boot Record that IBM put on the drive. Check to Lenov site to see how you can get the system back, if possible

What was the original operating system on that machine? I believe it was a Pentium II-400 processor standard, so that would make it Win98 (not even SE) at the absolute latest.GOD IS WITH YOU!

The system was originally w95, but w98 when I got it.
Still having problems stabilizing the system.
Still working on it.
