Solve : can't get the task manager to show up?

Answer»

Hi,

I have a laptop that is running windows XP Pro. I login as a computer administrator. I just noticed when i pressed ctrl+alt+del to view the task manager, a message POP up SAYING "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator". I don't understand what that means. I didn't do anything to my computer and sure that i'm the administrator.

How do i enable my task manager again?

Thank you very much and look forward to hearing from youIn Windows XP Pro you can open the 'Group Policy Editor' by going start -> run -> gpedit.msc. You should be ABLE to find the option to disable the task manager for the CURRENT user and re-enable access to task manager.

You can also enable Task Manager (TEMPORARY hack only) via your registry: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/WindowsXP/UserTips/Customization/EnableDisableTaskManagerinWindowsXPHomePro.html
