Answer» Would like to execute standby mode, INSTEAD of shutting down everytime. This option worked until last week. Only thing I did was update drivers with Driver Detective. I CHECKED the Power option, and "always on" is checked. Task MANAGER doesn't indicate anything running after all programs are closed, except system Idle. I checked FAQ's first and researched the other sites. I received one suggestions that I can't use Standby because I have a desktop. That doesn't make sense as itwas working earlier. I think I'd always test a system to see whether it's power saving features worked and, if they do, I'd use them. They're a very good thing to have to protect your computer against power fluctuations? No, I don't have a UPS, will consider getting one though. I'll just settle to leave the computer on all day. So, don't try to save power? I think I'd always test a system to see whether it's power saving features worked and, if they do, I'd use them.
