Solve : Can't install Service Pack 3? |
|
Answer» Running XP Pro on a 1.9 GHz Pentium 4 with 512 MB Ram. Could not get USB 2.0 to work. Contacted the motherboard MANUFACTURER (Gigabyte) and they said to install SP3 and EVERYTHING will be fine. Downloaded it to disc on a broadband connected computer and tried to open (install) the ISO file on my computer and get a message saying what do want to open the file with. Tried browsing but came up with zilch. Thanks for any help. An .iso file is an image that needs to be BURNED to cd. Use your burning software to create a cd, then run that cd to do the service pack installation.SP3 boots from a DVD and expects to find a working XP version already on the hard drive. SP3 boots from a DVD ... You can install WINDOWS XP SP3 from a "CD". |
