Answer» When I double click on any MS Word 97 document I get a message SAYING Windows cannot find Winword.exe When I try to browse for the document I want it still says it cannot find it. I am using a PC which is quite old - Windows 98. Also when I defragment the C drive it only does about 10% and then restarts!! Can anyone help! I am studying and NEED to USE Word to write my Empirical Study due in in a COUPLE of months!! Please help!A defrag will restart if there is some sort of active virus scanning PROGRAM or anything else accessing the hard drive. Look in Explorer to see if winword.exe is still in Program Files. If it is you may need to reset file associations. If you don't see your documents then you have other serious issues.
