Solve : Can't log on my admin account?

Answer»

I made a new account via User accounts and when I restarted my computer I couldn't access my admin account, I have files and favorites I'd like recuperate from it. What should I do? Should I delete the new account? I need to know before I MAKE another stupid mistake.try to log on in safe mode..
If you made another account that shouldn't of done nothing to the administrators.
if you can't access the administrators account i don't think any other type of an account can delete another account.Quote from: freakinerick on October 29, 2009, 09:49:27 PM

safe mode works but you can only do so much...should I delete the account I made? I made it so my siblings could use my computer but I think I'll just activate the guest account.Quote from: jlaf on October 30, 2009, 12:22:09 PM

No ...safemode logs you into the Admin account by default...
What is it you want to accomplish here ? ?Quote

Is this a way for users to bypass security restrictions? Some how this doesn't seem right.

I've only been restricted once. I started a new job and I couldn't even set my clock for the first week based on corporate IT settings. As long as theyr'e paying you i'd say stick around...Quote from: patio on October 30, 2009, 03:42:07 PM

Ok, it's *my* PC. I made an account on it but I had been logging on the *Admin* account before that. Now I *can't* log onto the admin account because there's a new account up? I want the info I have on the admin; pictures, documents, saved game files and contact information. I can't access it from this new account and the admin is only accessible through safe mode from what I can understand.i have some option for you

copy all files you want in admin and then paste it on shared documents
or
edit the account you just added as a administrator..

1. Operating System. Is this Windows XP Home Edition or Professional?

2. Administrator Account. Is the previous "Admin" account you mention the ORIGINAL default "Administrator" account for the system?

3. Logon Screen. What screen are you logging in from? Is it a "Welcome" screen that permits you to select an icon for the desired user account (from among list of users)?

If it's the Welcome screen, hit the key sequence "CTRL-ALT-DEL" twice. Hopefully you'll get a login dialog box that permits you to enter user name and password for the desired account.Go to my computer, then C drive, and think click on documents and settings, then Administrater..What do you mean you can't access the other account, What kind of account did you make besides the administrators account, If it was an another administrators you'll probably be able to get your imformation back, If it was a guest account or another probably not, Well i bet a hacker could, I don't think microsoft or anybody else like the fbi and goverment will help you retrieve lost data, What happens when you click on the password nothing, When you reboot did you try to go into another account and log off and try your administrative account if you have another administrators account change the password of the other or is it when you click on the password nothing happens.

what happens exactlly when you try to access it you get to type a password in and nothing happens or does it let you type it in and i it keeps showing it's incorrect are do you type it in and nothing happens

Secondly make sure you have your password correct sometimes i forgot i changed it and i keep using the old one or i might keep trying a password i have for another account or you sure you didn't change it recently and may be ussing another you use alot by acciident.

Also I would try to change the password with the other administrators account

If that doesn't WORK go to the welcome screen then hit control alt delete twice so you have to type in the administrative account and password this sometimes works a few times i had to do this because it wouldn't let me type in a password.

I don't see why making another administrators account would do ANYTHING to the other maybe like the password being incorrect or not being able to type it in UNLESS somebody changed the password without you knowing with the other administrators.
