Answer» This is the first time this has happened. I had a power outage and my computer turned off. I restarted it and it's now asking me for a login and PASSWORD, problem is I've never set up a login or password. When I try to login it gives me an error "THE SYSTEM CANNOT LOG YOU IN BECAUSE THE DOMAIN HOME-PC IS NOT AVAILABLE". But it doesn't give me the option to change the domain. I'm stuck at the windows login SCREEN. I restarted the computer 3 times. What happens if you just hit Enter at the prompt ?it gives me the same error message. I'm desperate, I work from home and need my computer on the weekends to do my workHave you TRIED starting up in safemode and re-setting the Admin prompts ? ?I PROBABLY should mention that I'm not very computer savvy. How do I start in Safe Mode? I apologise for leaving that info out... When starting the machine tap F8 repeatedly before you see the Win2K logo screen. It will list 4 or 5 choices...plain Safe Mode will be fine for your needs. Once in hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE and clik change password...leave the entries blank if you do not want one.thank you! You may have just saved my life! Or at least the life of my computerI saw you thinking about picking up the sledgehammer and reacted accordingly.... Welcome to CH !
