My fathers ancient lap top has been running really slow all of a sudden.I checked his hard drive space and he is completely full.I went to remove a few programs he no LONGER uses but the computer won't let me.An error meaasge pops up every time i try and gives me the option to "retry", wich i do but keeps comming up error.Any reason why the computer is not letting me remove programs?Are you going to control panel then Add or Remove programs and doing it there?

R0SSHow ancient is the operating system and how much RAM? It MAY be trying to creat more HD space (shich is not available) to do it's uninstall procedure so it does not work.

How about

del c:\windows\temp

from a command prompt just to get some space and empty recycle bin and turn it off if the system will allow it?As well as temp files, don't forget temp internet files and cookies etc. Then there's all those readme files that no-one ever reads, doc files, TXT, files, pdf files etc.It would TAKE some time to manually get rid of them.

You could download Ccleaner i think its called.

Crap Cleaner lol It removes all the "Crap" that you dont need from your computer.
