Answer» About 3 weeks AGO I clicked on a link that was either hacked or was not LEGIT to begin with, and it blue-screened my computer. I had it repaired and it didn't need to be wiped. The problem is that I can no longer upgrade to Service Pack 3, re-up Media Player (black UI, etc.), or watch DVD's (Media Center seems messed up). I wonder first, what exactly is going on? I don't understand why these things wouldn't work, unless I got worked over by the place I brought it to and they do this regularly to get an easy additional ~45 bucks out of all their customers. It seems too ARBITRARY, and with the exception of my ability to connect to the Net, the only things that are broken are about the only things that anyone -- experienced or not -- cares about. So is there anything I can do, here, or will I need to bring it back and have them work on it? You said you had it repaired. How?
