Solve : Cannot install operating system?

Answer»

A friend brought me a Dell desktop COMPUTER.  It has the reinstallation DISKS with it.  The hard drive has been formatted.  When I try to boot up on the DVD reinstallation disk I get the message, "NTLDR is missing.  Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".  I restarted and PRESSED the F2 key to enter setup to make sure it was set to boot up on the DVD drive but it did not enter setup and I got the same message as again.  How can I get the computer to boot up on the DVD so I can reinstall the operating system?I was able to get into setup finally but when I exit and reboot I still get the same message. Are you rebooting with reinstallation CD in?Yes, but on the disk it says it is a DVD.  It says, "This DVD is not for reinstallation of programs or DRIVERS".
It is a DVD, not a CD.It doesn't matter.

Here is how to boot Dell from CD/DVD: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=4F6B48DB99ACDA78E040AE0AB7E15F49
