I'm out of ideas!!What error(s) do you get when you try? When did  you start having this problem?Hi,

No error message, the open instruction appears to be accepted, done appears bottom left, nothing further.

All started about a week ago, I can't pin it down to any particular action on my part. Automatic updates for Windows and AVG are loaded as and when.Hmmm..
How about try these steps:
1. Click start , select run.
2. On the run box, type: cmd.
3. You will have a black window, type these commands:
regsvr32 jscript.dll (then press enter)
regsvr32 vbscript.dll (then press enter)
4. Close the black window.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Try checking if problem would still occur.

Please let me know if these steps have solved your issue. GOODLUCK

What do these do?

Aegis, It will re-register those DLL files that I think might help fix the issue of 7blackdog7 .Hi,

Tried the "fix", this is the response,

Not recognised as an INTERNAL or external command, operable program or batch file.

I'm still open to suggestions. Quote from: 7blackdog7 on May 28, 2009, 10:16:04 AM
Not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Please check if your typing these commands correctly:
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
When the user opens the command window, at what PROMPT should they expect to be, or does that MATTER?
Hi,

I copied the 2 cmds. I checked to see if correct, same response
mmm.. something is wrong

Hopefully that would work.  Hi,

The short answer is no! The latest Windows SP supercedes 5.7 and 5.6 was already loaded.
