Solve : Cannot send pictures thru email?

Answer»

I have Vista, AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 2.21GHz, RAM: 2.00GB, System Type: 32-bit OPERATING system, using Explorer 9 (yes, I know it's old and I also can't download a higher Explorer). I use Windows Photo Gallery for my pictures from my Kodak EasyShare Z7590. I have been using this for many years and have not had any problems. I have emailed pictures before, no problems. I have also mailed videos from MediaImpressions with no problems, and put videos on Facebook. For some reason, now my computer will not do any of those things. When I sent a picture today to a friend, she says it comes up as MMDI, or something like that, and will not open the picture. I have to COPY my pictures to My Documents in order to get them on Facebook. I haven't a clue as to what is going on. Even though I've had a computer for a long time, I still do not know how to "change" any settings and am scared to try something on my own for fear of making it worse. Can anyone help? Oh, and I also sent a picture to my laptop (which is newer), and it will not open it. Thanks in advance.

Here is a link for the manual.
Kodak EasyShare Z7590
The camera takes pictures n different levels of detail. If you set it to the highest detail, the size of each image will be very large. But tarts OK. But you have to copy each image to the 'My Pictures' folder is a smaller file format. If not, the e-mail program will refuse to send such a large photo.

Notice that the Windows Photo Gallery allows you to adjust the file size of a photo before you send it.

Hope this helps.

EDIT:Size limit on e-mail attachments
Hotmail and Outlook have limits as low as 10Mb (per file attachment). Thanks, Geek-9pm. I have a manual for my camera and we have never changed any settings or ANYTHING to do with how it takes pictures. We've always just used AUTO. I have a manual, I will look through it.

I did try to re-size my picture on Windows Photo Gallery, but it didn't do anything. Like I said, I'm computer-stupid and couldn't figure out how to SAVE the size. I'll keep working on it though!

http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htmMicrosoft's Paint program that is bundled with all Windows systems can be used to easily re-size photos.
