Answer» my pc cannot "start windows normally". this is what appeared on the screen: "we apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start succesfully. a recent hardware or software change might have CAUSE this..."
this trouble appeared after i assembled the harddisk into another pc. but it was fine when i put it back into the first/previous pc.
thanks for helping. You need to provide a LOT more information. Exactly what did you do and EXACTLY what happens now?i have two cpu and two harddisks. i have installed the windows os on both the hdd from the first cpu. then i installed/assembled one of the hdd into the second cpu and i encountered the problem to start windows normally. i was pretty sure i have all the hooks put correctly. THANK you.Let me see if I UNDERSTAND. You installed Windows on a hd on one computer and then took that hd and put it in another computer? And you expected it to work? Is that correct?
First, you are violating the EULA - one OS CD, one computer.
Second, unless the two computers are EXACTLY identical, you cannot do what you want to do anyway. As you are finding out, the OS will not load on the second system. You need to install the OS on the HD while it is in the system you want to use.yes. you are correct. that was what my problem is. i have tried to install the os from the second cpu but still unable to start up normally. is there anything to do with other hardware problem? thank you. What other hardware problem?i have no idea yet. the os installation process didn't run well from the second cpu. so i put the hdd into the first cpu and the os installation did run well. i am wondering what was the problem is? thank you.The problem is that when the OS installs it records information about the system hardware to a file (wpa.dbl). The OS is then specific to that system. You CANNOT take a disc with Windows from one system and expect it to boot on another.i see. thank you. i have tried to install the os from other different cd. but the problem still acting the same. does it relate to RAM or power supply trouble? i am just having problem to first boot from the cd room. and this cd drive seems the only way to install the os. thanks for helping.Either I don't understand you or you don't understand me. You need to purchase a copy of XP for each system and install it directly to that system. If you are doing ANYTHING else we cannot help you.thankssure
