this is really STRANGE to me... i'll boot up and it will get to the desktop, but i can't run My Computer, or My Documents, but i can run ie or firefox no prob.... any time i try to open said programs explorer crashes and i cant do ANYTHING... plz help T.T   btw, im on Windows MEhave you done anything before this? ie. Formatting hard drive(s), or installing/uninstalling programs?actually i did, i uninstalled all of my moms old business programs, deleted ALOT out of my documents(296megs), and it started doing it after i got my internet hooked up...i don't think deleting things out of ''my documents'' would cause explorer to cease functioning, as it RUNS off vital windows files, but i'll ask anyway; what did you delete from ''my documents?''.just like old pics, txt documents, etc..... im not completely computer eliterate but this has me stumped .... and very angry, but i didnt uninstall anything vital... just started acting up last night... i think its just old and finally dying, and it is an E-Machine wich i've heard are notorious for problems at old AGE.... get Ccleaner(without yahoo toolbar) run cleaner
then run issues scan (LEFT hand menu) save when it askes you to, I recommend making a folder somewhere called Ccleaner and saving it there. then fix problems, run a couple more times to make sure. the issues scan helps clean out your registry.

then go to start run and enter " chkdsk /f" without the qoutes and notice the space bewteen k and /f. a pop up will prompt you to run at start up press y and then enter. restart your computer, LET it run then once your back on your account do a defrag.

start
programs
accessories
system tools
disk defragment

let that run then restart and check things out.
