Well, I'm pretty BAD with computers, and this thread might be in the wrong section, so sorry if it is.

But the problem is that my CD Drive isn't working properly. The light blinks and the disc spins, but when I go into "My Computer" the game icon doesn't show up, only Local Disc D, and when I click that it brings me to a blank page.

Another thing you should probably know is when I start up my computer in the SCREEN where you can enter the computer settings, the disc drive light blinks and I need to eject the disc to continue to the next loading screen, or wait a minute or two.

I tried opening my computer up and connecting the motherboard cord and the drive cord again, but no dice.

Any help will be GREATLY apprieciated, thanks!  Can you play a music CD in it? Usually the optics go long before the mechanics, so it will still open/close, etc.

If the hardware has a problem, replacement is the solution. New DVD burners are as little as $30 delivered.Well I just put in some Jimi Hendrix in the drive, and still NOTHING. Maybe you should also know that when I put the disc in and go to the Local Disc icon in "My Computer" it takes a while for the blank page to show, it goes into the not responding state for a few seconds.Time to replace the drive.

And you should keep your responses with the original thread, rather than starting another series of posts for the same issue. It is less confusing to us as well as you.
