Solve : CD Not able to swich name and icon? |
|
Answer» hi guys you have the wixp drivers on your system? My Guess at what happened is the software (CHEETA cd/dvd burner) came with burning/generic cd drivers, which are older versions that the ones i have. it didnt care about dates, over wrote the newer ones, and messed up windows xp pro. Quote ...and a conflict between it and roxio (part of wmp)? It is mainly, as i said, a problem with the icon, title, and autorun. I unistalled the software after getting fairly mad at it and reallizing it was what was screwing me up (or so i think.) didnt leave it installed long enough to find out if it conflicted with any other programs. Quote does this happen with all disks or just media disks? media discs being games and such? i had assumed all discs held some sort of media But anyway, yes, it does not swith the title/icon for all discs (games, dvds, music, and whatnot) As i said above, if anyone can send me the standard drivers for windows xp PROFESSIONAL i can try some stuff to fix this. THANKSnot all cd/rw contain media...some are just burnt as data..what happens if you untick auto run...have you looked on the combo drive manufactors site for a reg patch...like i have stated why do you need winxp drivers when you have the disk...if anything your problem lies with windows explorer and you should consider this>> Important: Windows XP Professional supports only those devices listed in the HCL. If your hardware isn't listed, contact the hardware manufacturer and request a Windows XP Professional driver for the component. To ensure that programs using 16-bit drivers function properly afterwards, request 32-bit drivers from the software vendor. Quote not all cd/rw contain media...some are just burnt as data O I see you mean media as in music etc. I considered data to be a form of media, but whatever works. Quote what happens if you untick auto run... Nothing different Quote have you looked on the combo drive manufactors site<cheeta> for a reg patch cheetah makes the software i downloaded that screwed up my drive. I/O Magic are the makers of my drive and i couldnt find anything on their site Quote like i have stated why do you need winxp drivers when you have the disk I loaned it to a friend of mine who couldnt find his copy so he could reformat. By the Way, what is the HCLhave you tried the refresh option...when you load a difference disk? the hcl is ...hardware compatibilty list...reviews>http://www.driverzone.com/viewcomment.php?company=I/O%20Magic&masterid=323 Quote have you tried the refresh option...when you load a difference disk? Tried many times. Didnt do anything. Quote the hcl is ...hardware compatibilty list... ok thanks i am downloading the test kit as we speak Quote reviews>http://www.driverzone.com/viewcomment.php?company=I/O%20Magic&masterid=323 didnt seem to help much. Thank you though Thats another reason i dislike winxp....you have ditch hardware thats incompatible ....as msoft way to screw the hardware manufactors if they dont play ball with them...and also software programs...but msoft cant take all the credit i suppose its all depends how the system is slung together...*end of rant*the test kit didnt work. it kept getting stuck on my cf drive. then it would say one of the files that came with the test program were corrupt. any thing else i could try??? |
