Solve : CD reading but not running? |
|
Answer» Hi everyone, Check it in Explorer...is there a "setup.exe" on there ...if so you can just double click this and it should work. Yeah I checked that and unfortunately there isn't one which I thought was a bit strange. The only thing that resembles a set up file is the same application that auto-runs. I think the CD unit's ok, It quite happily reads, RIPS and burns all of my other CDS and DVDs without any problems. The only thing I could think of as a possibility is that it could have something to do with my system security(?) as I remember being asked by my Active X controller whether or not I wanted to allow an interaction on an information page that my disk defragger brought up. I've had no such prompt for this CD but the window it starts up in looks familiar. Just a thought anyway, if that is the case I have no idea how to change it! Thanks for your reply anyway*Bump* Because I still have no idea how to sort this!CONTACT your broadband ISP about this. Be sure to tell them your DVD-RW drive works fine for other tasks, as you've said here. Keep badgering them until you get this resolved. Yeah I'll give that a go. I'm still trying anything I can thing of to MAKE it work but so far no luck! Thanks for the reply. If you do a search on PPPoE you might be able to set it up without the providers bloated software...i set mine up minus the Yahoo garbage as i didn't want or need it. Works fine. |
