Answer» Want to have a USB-stick acting as a BOOTABLE CD-ROM or as a CD-R, would be cool to have the XP-installation CD and the Bart-PE on a USB-stick.
Is it posible ? Anyone done it ? What does the boot record of a CD-ROM/CD-R look likeIn order to boot from an USB PEN drive you need a BIOS that supports booting an USB DEVICE. If the BIOS supports booting from USB devices it should be listed as an option in the BIOS setup under the boot order config. If it does support booting from USB devices here is a list of ways to create your bootable pen drive. http://www.bootdisk.com/pendrive.htm And Bart-PE on a pen drive is ALSO possible but, according to the developers, not very stable. http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/faq/#10
If your system doesn't support USB booting then you're out of luck.Well, I have BartPE on a pen drive and it is stable as a rock.
