Solve : Changing Administrator in Win2000?

Someone has just given me their old laptop (IBM Thinkpad Pentium 3, 260 MB RAM, Win 2000 SP4) but it won't let me muck AROUND with it because it keeps asking me for the Administrator password. I have asked my friend for the password, but he doesn't remember it.
