Answer» I have read thru "somewhat" the search engine here 1st. Have an OLD compaq presario with wind 98se and I cannot get the puter to boot from the cd drive it reads only from the a drive. I finally GOT an A prompt and want to INSTALL my full windows me cd. It was not ACCEPTING the microcrap cd product key from the cd i received with this puter ? Anyone know what I should do ? You should not need a floppy boot at all. The machine should be bootable from the CD drive. You can boot with a Win98SE floppy, format the drive and then do the install from the ME CD assuming you have the correct serial number.You must change the bootdrive in the BIOS, not DOS.
