Solve : Changing the Word Processor Default? |
|
Answer» I have a new laptop that came with Windows 7 and a trial version of Word 2007. It allowed me to use Word 2007 25 times before requiring an activation code. Now that I have used the 2007 version 25 times, it only has limited FUNCTIONING. I recently installed a copy of Word 2003 on my laptop. How can I change the default to the 2003 version from the 2007 version? Each time I open a Word document it automatically goes into 2007? i would first try to unistal it and also delete any short cut to it as well that you may have on your desktopThat's what I wanted to avoid in case I choose to use it in the future!you could try to disable it in msconfig in the start up and SEE if that works. To make Word 2003 the default for .doc, open Word 2003, choose Help->Detect and Repair.I'd take this approach. Click on your Start button and select Default Programs. When the panel for Default Programs opens, click Associate a file type or PROTOCOL with a program. From the list of file extensions, select .doc and click the Change program button. Do you see the TWO versions of Word there? If so, select Word 2003 and click OK. |
