Answer» Restore partitions are a poor substitute for a real XP CD. You cannot do a repair install, for starters. Ditto for a restore CD. :-/After re-reading this thread i NOTICED the machine is still under warranty...i'd back up what i needed and make use of it.That was suggested but the OP didn't want to do it - too busy.And there you have it... They refused to respond to any emails i sent and whenever i call them, no matter what time of day it is, i get re-directed to a india call center who informs me that i need to wait till their singapore office is available as they cannot HELP with singapore problems. YEAH, i've heard from other sources that Toshiba support is LACKING. If you know someone who has a Windows XP CD, you might be able to use it to do a repair installation. You will need your Microsoft product key, of course (it should be printed on a label affixed to the COMPUTER). |
