Solve : Clean install of Windows XP Home?

Answer»

I have problems in running Windows XP Home.

So, I have decided to have a "Clean" install of Windows XP Home.

Please advise.

Thank you. What advice are you looking for?I would like to have the instructions so I could print them out.

1) Make sure the cd drive is the first device in the bios boot order
2) Insert the XP CD and reboot
3) Choose the option to format before installing (if you're not in a rush, let it do a "full" format INSTEAD of a "quick" format so it can check the DRIVER for ERRORS)
4) Install the OS
5) Once the OS is INSTALLED and you are able to boot to Windows, install all drivers beginning with the Chipset driver (then video, audio, NIC if applicable)
6) Install a GOOD anti virus utility and allow it to update
7) Go to Microsoft Updates and install all updates, including the latest service pack if needed
