Answer» Please help us. We have a Dell Inspiron 1501. It only has 512 MB and we tried to upgrade it to a 1GB. When we put it in, our laptop quit working. We were told to run the set up button at time of restart (f2) But it has a BIOS Password and we do not know it. We were told to clear it by finding the dipswitch, but we have no clue where it is. Does anyone know where it is or how to clear the password so we can add more memory please?

Make sure the computer is off and unplugged from any power SUPPLY...and keep yourself grounded.
