compaq 7500 computer running windows XP with dial up connection

over the last few days i am having a number of problems ~

1 when i am on line and open explored i get norton password ERROR ( contacted them ,waiting for reply)
    close the error and explorer opens fine
2 unable to open ebay turbo lister , error message ( contacted them , first fix did not work , waiting for second reply )
3 when i open netscape navigator , error message and you are unable to see the page , but it is open
4 when i open norton, error message and unable to see half the box
5 when i click on FAVORITES it CLOSES all open windows ,if i type in a url i can open websites with no problem

the only thing i can think of i did was updating explorer , when i did that i could not copy and paste to works word processor because i would get an error that " file size exceded... " but if i copy and paste in in an email reply and recopy and paste it , it will work fine

i know nothing about computers and do not have any idea where to begin . any ideas?
