Solve : Colorize WinXP??

Answer»

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way too colorize XP's stock themes like you can colorize the Windows CLASSIC themes? I do NOT want to use a program that runs in the background (windows blinds for ONE example), I was wondering if there was some modification to windows i can make to colorize the XP themes the way I like. I can only seem to find pre-made skins on google, and programs that must run in the background, However, a program that does not have to run in the background to hold the modified colors to XP's themes would be fine. I am tired of the dull look of windows classic, and I'm also tired of the whole "Microsoft Windows XP brought to you by Fisherprice" look that XP has boasted since its beginning, i have tried the Royale Theme, boring. Royale, like the stock XP themes, cannot be modified like windows classic.

To summarize in short what I am TRYING to find:

I need a program and/or modification to XP that allows me to colorize the title bar, window, text, start menu, scroll bar, menu, ect. in the Windows XP Theme in the same way the Windows Classic Theme can be colorized, or in a similar fashion. The program cannot run in the background, which is why I am open to modifying XP to allow the XP Theme to be modded like the Windows Classic Theme. So far, i have come up with zero useful programs or modifications.

No, sadly, it is but it isn't, XP cannot be fully colorized without some sort of third party intervention it would seem. below is an image, as you can see, when a color for the "3d objects" is selected, it does not affect the whole window in the default blue XP theme, just parts of it, in truth, most of the window stays unchanged, where as the classic theme rainy day changes fully. Is there any way possible to change the look of windows XP, up and down. Another thing, the title bar coloring cannot be changed in the XP theme, nor can many other things, i find this RATHER annoying seeing as this theme seems to be so workable. Thanks anyway though, maybe we can find something to change XP's standard themes.

[saving DISK space - old attachment deleted by admin]I see. The only way I know of with XP to do that is with programs like Windows Blinds, which you said you didn't want to use.

I don't know of any programs that modify Windows but don't run in the background.
