Answer» Hey guys basically I BUILT a COMPUTER not long ago and have been running ubuntu but now it SEEMS right to get windows 8 as I have Steam and want to play GAMES. Now I'm just wondering what the deal is with upgrading from linux to windows 8 because £50 seems far to cheap for a full ''upgrade'' to windows, any advice please ? There is no upgrade path from any Linux distro to Windows... You'll probably need the full version. As to gaming i would wait awhile after 8 is released to see how it performs for games...Windows 8 upgrade edition which you can pre-order for £49.99 in the UK requires a legally obtained qualifying Microsoft product to be already installed: Windows XP SP3, Vista or Windows 7. Microsoft upgrade licenses are usually cheaper than full retail. Ubuntu is not a qualifying product.
