Turn on the computer, tap F8, when the advanced options appear, select safe mode...
If your keyboard works while in Safe Mode, TrY system restore Does the keyboard from the other computer work in the problematic computer?I will try the safe mode..ThanksOK I tried the safe mode but keyboard still won't type.We also done a system restore.Still nothing. We tried another keyboard and it won't work either. We know the keyboards work properly on other computersGo back into safe mode, and if you can, GO here:  START>right-click My Computer>Properties>hardware tab>device manager

click on the + sign next to KEYBOARDS
Right-click on the item in the submenu

click properties

click the resources tab, and under where it says:  "Conflicting Device List", tell me what it says...

Does it say, "no conflicts" or somethings else?

What type of keyboard? USB, PS/2, wireless?
Try another working keyboard of different type in THIS computer.PS?2Maybe PS/2 jack is busted. Try USB keyboard.
