Answer» I am trying to use a USB to Serial Converter on a Compaq Presario 1200 laptop, the computer slows incredibly when this device is plugged in - any ideas?questions: does this happen when the laptop is plugged into to mains adapter?what OPERATING system and what RAM is used..etc.....The operating system is Windows Me, there is 64MB RAM, which is the same as a very OLD computer that runs the system directly off its serial port.i WOULD suggest more ram..........try running laptop on mains adapter...power..is the key........what usb device are you trying to use.....and what cpu..p2/3?? |
