Solve : computer automatically restarting when shutdown? |
|
Answer» I'm waiting for one of the resident Hijack Experts to comment on this. seagullpat...... I am CURRENTLY going through your hijackthis log ....... however , I just have to ask, by any remote chance has the shutdown down option been changed from shutdown to restart ? this could have happened and you may have overlooked it completely . Backweb was always very popular with Compaq on their consumer models also. that goes waaaaay back. Also HP printers as well... patio. 8-)Hi there, SORRY about the delay getting back to you, really appreciate your CONTINUED help. Thanks for looking at the Hijackthis log dl65: I haven't deliberately changed the shutdown option (I wouldn't know how), or added digital camera software in the LAST couple of years - however, I did go into Kodak easyshare a couple of weeks ago or so with a view to uninstalling it if it wasn't necessary (I had a look and couldn't work out what to do, so left it; I am a genuine techno-oaf, so could well have messed SOMETHING up without being aware of it). Could you guys tell me how to remove whatever needs to be removed, please? And to save repetition, please take as read my apologies once again for being so dense!Going to be away for a couple of weeks from this time tomorrow - I'll bounce this when I get back, if that's OK, thanks for the help so far!Back again, same problem of course... I've uninstalled the Kodak stuff and made sure the default is for shutdown and not restart. dl65, could you or anyone else explain how I can remove the stuff you said? I don't understand what they are or how to get at them, so dumbed-down guidance would be great: O2 - BHO: ST - {9394EDE7-C8B5-483E-8773-474BF36AF6E4} - C:\Program Files\MSN O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe Thanks, as ever! |
