Answer» Hi everyone,
I'm new to this list so here I am looking for a solution for serious comp problem. Since few months ago my computer STARTED to crash (or better say restart) randomly. First once a week and now 5 or 6 times a day. After each restart it gives the notification:System has recovered from a serious errorr bla bla bla. In event viewer I could find different errors and warnings like: Events: 7000, 7036, 1003, 57. How can I solve this problem. Is it my hardware er maybe my RAM? Should I reinstall windows? Here some specifications of the system: AMD Athlon XP 3000 2.10GHz, 1GB of RAM Microsoft Windows XP professional SP2
Display adapter RADEON 9600
Please if anyone can help! Best, Der Golem :-?You may want to run ScanDisk, which may FIX a possible disk problem in your NTFS file system
To run Scandisk: Open "My Computer" (LOCATED on the Startmenu or the Desktop) Right CLICK the "C" drive (the drive where Windows XP is installed in) Click "Properties" submenu Click the "TOOLS" tab and click the button in the "Scan Disk" area called "Check Now"
It will require a restart to do the whole scan, and the bigger the hard drive, the longer it will take. (Up to quite a few hours!)
