Answer» my sister in law has hp pavilion XT983 tried to RUN system recovery, everything looked ok loaded ant-virus program pc locked up REBOOT and got that there is an error in the software and WINDOWS will not start. tried to run recovery cd from hp. it gets to the Welcome to setup and locks up how can i fix it. All we NEED to assist further is some punctuation and details about the machine... patio. 8-)With their proprietary recovery program you will need to contact HP. Has any of the hardware been upgrade since it was NEW? Sometimes that causes issues.
